Myron J. Sisk, age 79, Joplin, Mo., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, following a short illness.
He was born Jan. 1, 1934, in Vienna, Mo., to Utah and Virgie Randell Sisk. Myron was a lifetime area resident.
He worked 20 years for ICI Explosive, retiring in 1993. Myron also worked at the Parsons Ammunition Plant. He was an avid bowler with the Senior League bowling at Carl Richards Bowl.
He married Kathryn McGinnis on Dec. 27, 1955, in Miami, Okla. She survives. Also surviving is a son, Michael Sisk, Georgetown, Texas; three brothers, Byron Sisk, Joplin; Jack Sisk, California; Bob Sisk, Houston, Texas; three sisters, Mary Vandergrift, Carterville, Mo.; Virginia Thoele, Ohio; Kathy Reynolds, Carterville, Mo.; and three grandchildren, Evelyn Charland, Oscar Charland and Joey Sisk. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Harold, Olen, Gerald and Steve; and one sister, Geraldine.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at the Gandy Cemetery, Riverton, Kan., with Rev. Jarel Burnside officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family request contribution to the Carthage or Joplin Humane Society in care of the mortuary. Services under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
